Our Co-founder Andrew Taylor has appeared twice in the Telegraph last week commenting on Walmart’s sale of Asda to billionaire brothers Moshin and Zuber Issa.

The first article on 28 September reports generally on the sale and the second article, published the next day, comments on the likelihood of the deal attracting the attention of the Competition and Markets Authority.

Andrew provides his view that the deal is likely to pique the watchdog’s interest because some of Asda’s petrol stations are likely to be close to those of EG’s in some local market areas. “While a deal might not result in Asda and EG merging their networks, they would still be connected. The Competition and Markets Authority could require them to sell those petrol stations.”
